VARIATION TO LICENCE AREA PLAN

INVERELL – SEPTEMBER  2004

The Australian Broadcasting Authority herby varies the licence area plan (LAP) for radio in the Inverell region of NSW, determined on 25 June 1998, under subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

The variation amalgamates the licence areas of the Deepwater and Glen Innes community radio services and defines the licence area, at Attachment 3.1.1 in 2001 Census boundaries. It further makes available to the Deepwater community radio service additional technical specifications for a transmitter at Glen Innes, as follows:

Service Category Service Licence No. Technical Specification No. Frequency Attach No. Area Served Status
Community SL1150087 TS10005054 105.9 MHz 3.3 Glen Innes Add
Community SL1150036 TS10005054 105.9 MHz 4.2 Glen Innes Delete

In addition, Schedule 4 and Attachment 4.1 to the June 1998 Inverell LAP are deleted.

The licence areas of the existing Inverell commercial radio services, 2NZ and 2GEM, and the proposed Inverell community radio service, have been redefined using 2001 Census boundaries.

The descriptions of the updated licence areas are at Attachments 1.1.1 and 2.1.1.

(Determined by the Australian Broadcasting Authority on 9 September 2004)

SCHEDULES

  • Each of the Schedules sets out:

  • the category of each of the services that are to be available in that area (column one).

  • the status of the service (column two) does not form part of the licence area plan decision and is included for reference only.

  • the frequency for each transmitter (column three) does not form part of the licence area plan decision and is included for reference only.

  • the service licence number which has been allocated to the service, if appropriate (column four);  N/A = Not Applicable, as the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 only requires service licences for Commercial and Community services.

  • the identifying number of the attachment where the technical specifications for each transmitter are described (column six).  (Each set of technical specifications referred to in the Schedules is an attachment to this determination).
