AN ACT to amend the Library Board of Western

Australia Act 1951-1974.

[Assented to 5 December 1983.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Library

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Library Board of Western Australia Act 19514983.

Section 3

2.

Section 3 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) in the definition of "nominee member" by deleting "occupying office of member of the Board pursuant to the provisions of para- graph (b) of subsection (3) and subsection (4) of section five" and substituting the following-

amended.

" appointed as a member of the Board under

section 5 (3) ".

Section 5

3.

Section 5 of the principal Act is amended

amended.

(a)

in subsection (5) by deleting ", but a nominee member shall be eligible to be selected for re-appointment"; and

(b)

by inserting after subsection (5) the following subsection-

" (5a) A nominee member shall be eligible to be selected for re-appoint- ment. ".

Section 21

amended.

4. Section 21 of the principal Act is amended

in subsection (5)-

(a)

in paragraph (g) by deleting "archives." and substituting the following-

" archives; "; and

(b)

by inserting after paragraph (g) the follow- ing paragraph-

" (h) may provide for the regulation of

registered public libraries. ".
