Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the per capita subsidy payable to certain local councils that provide a library for the financial year 2019–20 and subsequent financial years.

This Regulation is made under the Library Act 1939, including sections 13 (4) (b) and 15 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Library Amendment (Subsidies) Regulation 2019.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2019 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Library Regulation 2018

Clause 18

Omit the clause. Insert instead:

18      Amount of subsidy

(1)  For the purposes of section 13 (4) (b) of the Act, the amount of subsidy
is as follows:

(a)	$2.45 for the financial year 2019–20,
(b)	$2.55 for the financial year 2020–21,
(c)	$2.65 for the financial year 2021–22,
(d)	$2.85 for each subsequent financial year.

(2)	In this clause:
financial year means a period of 12 months commencing on 1 July.
