No 13)

under the

Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979

1      Name of plan

This plan is Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000 (Amendment

No 13).

2      Aims of plan

This plan aims to amend the schedule of heritage items to Leichhardt

Local Environmental Plan 2000 so as:

(a)

to protect the rare and pre-1850 heritage properties of Balmain as heritage items, and

(b)

to include other properties as heritage items identified as important to the heritage of the local government area of Leichhardt, and

(c)

to remove from the schedule those heritage items that are no longer present as a result of site remediation (being the archaeological remains on the former Monsanto and Balmain Power Station sites, Rozelle and certain structures on the Balmain Power Station site), and

(d)

to protect as heritage items 2 remaining structures on the Balmain Power Station site, being the Pump House and the former administration building in Margaret Street, Rozelle.

3      Land to which plan applies

This plan applies to the land shown on the map marked “Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000 (Amendment No 13)—Heritage Conservation Map” deposited in the office of the Leichhardt Council, and to the heritage items that have been removed as referred to in clause 2 (c).

4 Amendment of Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000

Leichhardt Local Environmental Plan 2000 is amended as set out in

Schedule 1.
