An Act to enable the Municipal Council of Leichhardt to mortgage certain lands for the purpose of erecting a Town Hall or Council Chambers thereon. [1st March, 1888.]

t h e purpose of erect ing a Town H a l l or Counci l Chambers w i th al l necessary offices, rooms, and appur tenances the reon . A n d whereas t h e Council of t h e said Borough is unable , w i thou t borrowing money upon securi ty of t h e said land and t h e bui ldings to be erected thereon, to erect such Town H a l l or Council Chambers , offices, rooms, and appur tenances ; and it is expedient to confer t h e necessary borrowing powers on such Council . Legislat ive Counci l and Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of t h e same, as follows :—
1. The Munic ipa l Council of Le ichhard t m a y , for and on behalf a n d in t h e n a m e of t h e said Borough, borrow money a t in teres t for t h e purposes of pay ing all t he costs and expenses now or hereaf ter t o be incur red of and in connect ion wi th t h e bu i ld ing and comple t ing such Town H a l l or Counci l Chambers , offices, rooms, and appu r t e ­ nances upon the securi ty of t h e land so purchased as aforesaid, and for such purpose m a y m o r t g a g e t h e said land or any p a r t thereof and t h e bu i ld ing now or hereafter to be erected thereon, and m a y do, sign, seal, deliver, a n d execu te all acts , deeds, and documents necessary for effecting a n d comple t ing such mor tgage .
2. Al l moneys so borrowed shall be applied to t h e purpose of bu i ld ing and comple t ing t h e said Town H a l l or Council Chambers , offices, rooms, and appur tenances , and for no o ther purpose whatso­ ever. A n d a detailed account of all moneys so received or paid b y the said Council shal l be included in t he detailed account of r evenue and expendi tu re required by the one hund red and e ighty- th i rd section of
t he " Municipal i t ies A c t of 1867 ."

of Cumber land, con ta in ing by measu remen t one rood and n ine teen perches or there­ abouts , be ing lots e ight and n ine of section four, on a plan deposited in t he L a n d s Tit les Office, Sydney, numbered one hundred and ninety , and p a r t of two h u n d r e d and seventy acres del ineated in t he public m a p of the said parish deposi ted in t h e office of the Surveyor Genera l , originally g ran ted to H u g h Piper , by Crown gran t , dated the seven­ t e e n t h day of October , one thousand eight hundred and eleven, be ing the whole of the l and comprised in certificate of t i t le , dated twen ty -n in th day of December , one thousand e ight hundred and seventy-five.
