1  Name

This instrument is the Legislation (Deferral of Sunsetting—Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Rate per Kilometre) Notice) Certificate 2018.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under paragraph 51(1)(c) of the Legislation Act 2003.

4  Deferral of sunsetting

(1)  The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Specified Rate per Kilometre) Notice 2008 (3) (the notice), for which the sunsetting day is 1 October 2018, is repealed by section 51 of the Legislation Act 2003 on 1 October 2019.

(2)  To avoid doubt, the reference in subsection (1) to the notice includes a reference to the notice as in force for the purposes of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence‑related Claims) Act 1988.

Note: The notice is in force for the purposes of that Act because of subitem 63(2) of Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Legislation Amendment (Defence Force) Act 2017.

5  Repeal of this instrument

This instrument is repealed at the start of 2 October 2019.
