1                 Name of Rule

This Rule is the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development
(Barristers) Amendment (Designated Local Regulatory Authority) Rule 2016.

2                 Commencement

This Rule commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3                 Authorising provision

This Rule is made by the Legal Services Council under Part 9.2 of the Uniform
Law.

4 Amendment of Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Barristers) Rules 2015

Rule 5 Definitions

Omit “A reference in these Rules to the designated local regulatory authority,

when used expressly or impliedly in relation to a provision of the Uniform Law, is a reference to the relevant designated local regulatory authority specified or

described under jurisdictional legislation for that provision.”.

Insert instead:

Designated local regulatory authority means a person or body specified or described in jurisdictional legislation as the relevant designated local regulatory authority for the purposes of section 44 of the Uniform Law.
