1 Name of Instrument
This Rule is the Legal Profession Uniform Admission Amendment (Police Reports)
Rule 2016.
2 Commencement
This Rule commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
3 Authorising provision
This Rule is made by the Legal Services Council under Part 9.2 of the Legal
Profession Uniform Law.
4 Amendment of Legal Profession Uniform Admission Rules 2015
Rule 18
Omit the rule. Insert instead:
18 Police reports
(1) An application for a compliance certificate must be accompanied by a report from police in Australia on the applicant’s criminal history in Australia, prepared within 6 months before the application is made. (2) If the Board so requires, the applicant must obtain and provide to the Board a report from police in any country or jurisdiction determined by the Board, on the applicant’s criminal history.
