Legal Profession Amendment Rules 2009

Made by the Legal Practice Board under Part 17 of the Act.

1.            Citation

These rules are the Legal Profession Amendment Rules 2009.

2.            Commencement

These rules come into operation as follows —

(a)	rules 1 and 2 — on the day on which these rules are published in the Gazette;
(b)	the rest of the rules — on the day after that day.

3. Rules amended
These rules amend the Legal Profession Rules 2009.

4.            Rule 3A inserted

At the end of Part 1 insert:

3A.	Supervised legal practice
(1)	This rule applies for the purposes of the definition, in section 3 of the Act, of supervised legal practice paragraph (0.
(2)	Legal practice is approved if it is engaged in in a capacity approved under rule 19 for the purposes of the definition, in section 50 of the Act, of restricted legal

5. Rule 7A inserted
At the end of Part 2 Division 1 insert:

7A.	Contributions to Guarantee Fund (s. 337)
For the purposes of section 337 of the Act the prescribed amount is $20.
