LEGAL PROFESSION AMENDMENT ACT 1996 No 95—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) G. SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels, AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Legal Profession Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 April 1997 as the day on which that Act commences, except the following provisions:

(a) Schedule 4 [6], and
(b) Schedule 5 [l], [2], [12], [13], [15]-[17], [20], [21] and [23]-[27].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Legal Profession Amendment Act 1996, other than certain provisions relating to money received by a solicitor on behalf of another and to the deposit of money in building societies and credit unions.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Act.
