LEGAL PROFESSION ADMISSION RULES 2005

THE Legal Profession Admission Board has approved amendments to the Legal

Profession Admission Rules 2005.

Amend Rule 29:

Delete

“(e) holds an associate degree or a diploma, advanced diploma or associate

diploma from an Australian university or TAFE college,”

and insert
“(e) holds a Graduate Certificate/Vocational Graduate Certificate, Graduate

Diploma/Vocational Graduate Diploma, an associate degree, advanced diploma, diploma, or associate diploma from an Australian university or TAFE college,”

First Schedule – Form 10, Section 6:

Amend Form 10 as follows:

Delete

“6.1. I have not previously been admitted or refused admission as a lawyer in any

jurisdiction in Australia or in a foreign country.”

and insert

“6.1. I have not previously applied for, been admitted or refused admission as a

lawyer in any jurisdiction in Australia or in a foreign country.”

First Schedule – Form 11, Section 7:

Amend Form 11 as follows:

Delete

“7.1. I have not previously been refused admission as a lawyer in any jurisdiction

in Australia or in a foreign country.”

and insert

“7.1. Since being admitted as a lawyer in the overseas jurisdictions listed in

section 3, I have not applied for or been refused admission as a lawyer in

any jurisdiction in Australia, or in a foreign country.”
