Legal Profession Act 1987—Order New South Wales

I, Jeffrey William Shaw, Attorney General, in pursuance of section 48O of the Legal Profession Act 1987 (the Act) do, by this my Order, declare the Legal Practitioners Act 1981 of South Australia to be a corresponding law for the purposes of Part 3B of the Act.

Explanatory note

Section 48O of the Legal Profession Act 1987 provides for the Minister to declare a law of another State relating to the regulation of legal practice to be a corresponding law for the purposes of Part 3B of the Act. The purpose of this Order is to declare the Legal Practitioners Act 1981of South Australia to be such a corresponding law.

This declaration enables individuals who are authorised to practice law in one State to practice law in an equivalent way in all other States participating in the national practising certificate scheme to which Part 3B relates.
