Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Legal Practitioners (Fees) Variation Regulations 2016.

2—Commencement

These regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

4—Substitution of Schedule 2

Schedule 2—delete the Schedule and substitute:

Schedule 2—Fees

For the issue or renewal of a practising certificate (other than a volunteer practising certificate)—

    (a)    for more than 6 months

$410 fee

$185 levy

    (b)    for 6 months or less

$241 fee

$93 levy

Fee for the issue or renewal of a volunteer practising certificate (see LPEAC rule 3B: category D practising certificate)

$103 fee

$47 levy

Fee to accompany written notice provided under section 23D of the Act

$30

Fee to accompany written notice provided under Schedule 1 clause 4

$30

Fee to accompany written notice provided under Schedule 1 clause 5

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
