AN ACT to amend the Legal Practitioners

Act, 1893-1978.

[Assented to 21st November, 1979.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Legal floirt title

Practitioners Act Amendment Act, 1979. citation.

(2) In this Act the Legal Practitioners Act, 1893-	Reprinted as
approved

1978, is referred to as the principal Act.

be cited as the Legal Practitioners Act, 1893-1979.	1977, and

Section 6

amended. 2. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended

(a) by adding after paragraph (f) of subsection (1) the following paragraph

(fa) for prescribing the cases and conditions in which certificated practitioners may share the whole or any part of the costs referred to in paragraph (4) of section seventy- nine of this Act with persons other than certificated practitioners, or their executors or administrators; ;

and

(b) by deleting the expression "1979" in line four of subsection (lb) and substituting the expression "1983".

Section 10	3. Section 10 of the principal Act is amended
amended.

(a)	in subsection (3a) by deleting the expression "1979" and substituting the expression "1983";
(b)	by repealing subsection (4); and
(c)	in subsection (5) by deleting the passage commencing with the words "at least five years" in line nine and ending with the words "the State" in the last line and substituting the passage "in the office of the Crown Solicitor of the State, the Deputy Commonwealth Crown Solicitor in the State or the Director of Legal Aid appointed under section eighteen of the Legal Aid Commission Act, 1976".

Section 25A	4. Section 25A of the principal Act is amended by
amended.

deleting the word "Secretary" in line one and

substituting the words "Executive Director".

Section 79.

amended. 5. Section 79 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, before the word "share" in line one of paragraph (4), the passage "except in accordance with rules made under section six of this Act,".
