AN ACT to amend the Legal Practitioners
Act, 1893-1977.
[Assented to 15th May, 1978.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Section 10
| amended. | 2. Section 10 of the principal Act is amended |
| (a) | as to subsection (3a), by adding after the passage "subsection (3)", in line one the passage "and subsection (3b)"; and |
(b) by adding a subsection as follows
(3b) There is an exception to subsec- tion (1) of this section in respect of the Director of Legal Aid appointed under section eighteen of the Legal Aid Com- mission Act, 1976 in that a person may, subject in all other respects to the pro- visions of this Act, be articled to the Director if the Director is a practitioner of less than two years' standing but is a barrister or solicitor or both-
(i) of the High Court of Australia; or
(ii) of the Supreme Court of a State of the Commonwealth, other than this State
of not less than two years' standing. .
