AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Legal Practitioners Ordinance 1970-1972.

I THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of , Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council,
hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government
(Administration) Act 1910-1972.

LEGAL PRACTITIONERS ORDINANCE 1973

1 . (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Legal Practitioners

Ordinance 1973.*

(2 ) The Legal Practitioners Ordinance 1970-1972,f as amended

by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Legal Practitioners Ordinance
1970-1973.

2. Section 7 of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance 1970-1972 is amended by omitting sub-sections (2) and (3) and substituting the following sub-sections:—

Authorised by the ACT Parliamentary Counsel—also accessible at

" (2) Subject to section 8, a member of the Admission Board other

than the Judge holds office for the period that—

(a)

commences on the date of the instrument of his appointment or, where the appointment is expressed to commence on some later date, on that later date; and

(b) ends on the next succeeding thirty-first day of December.

" (3) A member of the Admission Board other than the Judge is

eligible for reappointment.".
