LEGAL ASSISTANCE (AMENDMENT) ACT.
Act No. 42, 1964.
An Act to extend the classes of persons to whom legal assistance may be granted under the Legal Assistance Act, 1943, as amended by subsequent Acts; to validate certain matters; for this purpose to amend that Act, as so amended; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 27th November, 1964.]

T>E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by ••-* and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : —

(2) The Legal Assistance Act, 1943, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the Legal Assistance Act, 1943-1964.
2. The Legal Assistance Act, 1943, as amended by
subsequent Acts, is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) of subsection four of section six the word "seventy-five" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "one hundred and fifty"; (b) by omitting from the same paragraph the words "the multiple of fifty pounds next above" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words "an amount calculated by adding the sum of one hundred pounds to".
A certificate under subsection four of section six of the Legal Assistance Act, 1943, as amended by subsequent Acts, granted before the commencement of this Act but on or after the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixty- four, shall be and be deemed always to have been as valid and effectual as it would have been had the amendments made by section two of this Act been in force when the certificate was granted.
