I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State
of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in
pursuance of section 2 of the Legal Aid Commission (Amendment) Act 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 8th January, 1993 as the day

on which that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Legal Aid Commission (Amendment) Bill 1992 amends the Legal Aid Commission Act 1992, to remove the requirement that the chief executive of the Commission be a practising solicitor. to change the title of the chief executive officer from “Director” to “Managing Director”, and to make certain consequential amendments.

The attached proclamation commences the Act on 8th January, 1993.
