AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Leases (Special Purposes) Ordinance

1925-1929.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Seat of of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Executive Government Acceptance Act 1909 and the Seat of Government
(Administration) Act 1910, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Leases {Special short title and

Purposes) Ordinance 1930.

(2.) The Leases (Special Purposes) Ordinance 1925-1929 is

in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Leases (Special Purposes) Ordinance 1925- 1930.

2. Section three of the Principal Ordinance is amended by power to grant

adding at the end thereof the following sub-sections:—• purpose1 other

to any approved association a lease of land within the City
Area for the purposes of the association.

" (4 . ) Where the special purpose for which any lease has been granted under the last preceding sub-section is not being fulfilled or has been effectuated or where the fulfilment of the special purpose is no longer possible, the lessee may transfer the lease and the lease, on transfer, shall be deemed to be a lease for business purposes under the City Area Leases Ordinance 1924-1929 and shall be subject to the same terms and conditions as if it had been originally granted under the the City Area Leases Ordinance 1924-1929.

"(5 . ) For the purposes of sub-section (3.) of this section

'approved association' means any society, association or other

body which is not carried on for profit or gain to the individual members thereof and which the Minister declares, by notice in the Gazette, to be, for the purposes of this section, an approved association.".
