AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Leases Ordinance 1918-1926.

> E it ordained by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of ) Australia, with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, in

pursuance of the powers conferred by the Seat of Government Acceptance Act 1909 and the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910, as follows:—

(2.) The Leases Ordinance 1918-1926, is in this Ordinance referred oltation- 1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Leases Ordinance 1927. short title and

to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Leases Ordinance 1918-1927.

2 . Section three of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting Period of

therefrom the word " conditions " and inserting in its stead the words leases.
" covenants and conditions ".

3 . After section three of the Principal Ordinance, the following section is inserted :—

"3A.—(1.) The Commission may fix such survey fees as it thinks survey i

fit, in respect of any land leased under this Ordinance.
(2.) Where the Commission fixed a survey fee in respect of any land leased under this Ordinance, it shall forward to the lessee of that land, at his last known address, a notice in writing signed by the Secretary to the Commission, specifying the amount of the fee and the date upon which the fee is payable.

(3.) Where a notice as prescribed in this section has been forwarded to the lessee of any land, the survey fee fixed in respect of that land shall be payable by the lessee to the Commission on the date for payment specified in the notice :

4 . Section five of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting Period of

paragraph (e) of sub-section (1.) and inserting iu its stead the following leasee.
paragraph :—

" (e) the covenants and conditions of leases ; ".
