AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Leases Ordinance 1918-1955.

I THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Common-, wealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under
the Seat of Government {Administration) Act 1910-1955.

LEASES ORDINANCE 1958.

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Leases Short title md
citation-
Ordinance 1958.*

(2.) The Leases Ordinance 1918-1955f is in this Ordinance

referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this

Ordinance, may be cited as the Leases Ordinance 1918-1958.

2. Section four of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Persons to

inserting after the words "Subject t o " the words " this $£££&,

3. After section four of the Principal Ordinance the

following section is inserted:—

" (2.) For the purposes of this section—

' value', in relation to a lease, means the value, deter- mined by the Minister for the purposes of this sec- tion, of the lease at the date of the grant of the lease, without regard to the value of fixtures or erections on, or improvements made to, the land comprised in the lease;

' rural purposes' means one or more of the following purposes, being purposes that the Minister has, under section four of this Ordinance, determined to be purposes for which a lease may be granted:—

(a) grazing;
(b) fruitgrowing;
(c) horticulture;
(d) dairying;

(e) agriculture.".
