Act N o . 4 , 1978.
An Act to amend the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provi sions) Act, 1944, and thereby extend the jurisdiction of the District Court to certain cases of injury arising from mental or nervous shock. [Assented to, 20th February, 1978.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
This Act may be cited as the "Law Reform (Nervous
Shock) Amendment Act, 1978".
2. The Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act,
1944, is amended—
(a)
by omitting from section 4 (2) the words "Supreme Court" and by inserting instead the words "Court in which the action is brought";
(b)
by inserting in section 4 (4) after the words "Supreme Court" the words "or the District Court".
