Law Reform Commission Act Amendment Act 1984, No. 47 499 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Law Reform Commission Act Amendment Act 1984. (2) The Law Reform Commission Act 1968-1976 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Law Reform Commission Act1968-1984. 2. Amendment of s. 10 . Functions and Duties of Commission . Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) inserting after subsection (3) the following subsection :- "(4) For the purpose of assisting the Commission to formulate a programme or recommendation the Commission may publish its working and discussion papers and such other papers as it thinks fit and may circulate those papers to such persons as it thinks fit."; (b) renumbering the existing subsection (4) as subsection (5). 3. Amendment of s. 14. Staff. Section 14 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " , and any officer so appointed shall receive such salary and allowances as the Governor in Council thinks fit "; (b) adding at the end of the section the following paragraph:- "Any person appointed pursuant to this section shall be appointed to and hold his office subject to and in accordance with the Public ServiceAct1922
