Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Law Enforcement (Controlled Operations) Act 1997.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to include the Police Powers (Controlled Operations) Act 2006 of Tasmania in the list of corresponding laws for the purposes of the Law Enforcement (Controlled Operations) Act 1997 of New South Wales. As a result, the protections provided by the New South Wales Act to ensure the lawfulness of controlled operations by law enforcement agencies extend to controlled operations that are authorised by or under the Tasmanian Act.

This Regulation is made under the Law Enforcement (Controlled Operations) Act 1997, including sections 4 (which provides for the amendment of the list of corresponding laws in Schedule 1 to the Act) and 31 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Law Enforcement (Controlled Operations)
Amendment (Corresponding Laws) Regulation 2011.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.
