His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Law Enforcement and National Security (Assumed Identities) Act 2010.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to declare the Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 of Western Australia to be a corresponding law for the purposes of the Law Enforcement and National Security (Assumed Identities) Act 2010, in order to recognise and give effect in New South Wales to the authorisation of assumed identities under the Western Australian Act.

This Regulation is made under the Law Enforcement and National Security (Assumed Identities) Act 2010, including sections 4 (1) (which provides for the declaration of corresponding laws) and 42 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Law Enforcement and National Security (Assumed Identities) Amendment (Corresponding Laws) Regulation 2013.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

Clause 9 Corresponding laws

Insert after clause 9 (f):

(g) the Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 of Western Australia.
