His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has

made the following Regulation under the Land Tax Management Act 1956.

Explanatory note

Clause 5 of the Land Tax Management Regulation 1992 exempts gas companies listed in that clause from taxation under the Land Tax Management Act 1956 in respect of certain land owned by those companies. The object of this Regulation is to remove that exemption.

This Regulation is made under the Land T a x Management Act 1956, including section 82 (the general regulation making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Land Tax Management Amendment (Gas

Companies) Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 30 December 1996.

1. Amendment of Land Tax Management Regulation 1992

   The Land Tax Management Regulation 1992 is amended by omitting clause 5.
