E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. 1916. SURVEYORS. Land Surveyors Act Amendment. 7667 2. To the definition of "Authorised Survey" in Amendment; section three of the Principal Act, the following paragraph of s. 3. is added:- "or-(e) By the owner, proprietor, lessee, mortgagee, or occupier of,"or any person holding a registered interest in, any land for the re-establishment of, or identification of, or adjustment of the boundaries or any boundary of such land;" 3. After subsection eight of section four of the AmeoWnent; Principal Act, the following subsection is inserted:- of 8. 4. . [8A.] In the case of illness, suspension, inability, or absence of any member of the Board, the Governor in Council may appoint some other surveyor to act as the deputy of such member during such illness, suspension, inability, or absence, and every such surveyor shall, while he acts as such deputy, have all the powers and perform all the duties of such member of the Board. 4. In section eighteen of the Principal Act, the Amendment; words "or of s. 18. (iii.) Caution such surveyor, and order him to pay the cost of any correction of any error" are repealed, and the following provisions are inserted in lieu thereof :-' The Board may, in addition to suspension or as an alternative thereto, make all or any of the following orders:- (iii.) Impose a fine on such surveyor not exceeding fifty pounds by way of penalty; (iv.) Order such surveyor to pay the cost of the correction of his work; (v.) Order such surveyor to pay such sum as the Board thinks adequate as compensation to his client; (vi.) Order such surveyor to pay a specified sum as costs in the case. If such .surveyor does not pay every such sum or sums mentioned in such order or orders forthwith or at the time and in the manner specified in the order, the Board may, in its discretion, suspend or continue the suspension of such surveyor from practice as .asurveyor until such sum or su~ .shall have been duly' paid. .
