ACT 1994

AN ACT to amend the Land Drainage Act 1925.

[Assented to 8 July 1994.]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Land Drainage Amendment

Act 1994.

Commencement

2.     This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it

receives the Royal Assent.

Principal Act

3. In this Act the Land Drainage Act 1925* is referred to as the

principal Act.

Section 6 amended

4.     Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by adding the

subsection following —

(3) Other than for the purposes of section 64, on and after the coming into operation of the Land Drainage Amendment Act 1994 a reference in this Act to rates imposed under this Act shall be construed as a reference to rates so imposed prior to the coming into operation of that Act, and cognate words shall be construed accordingly.

Sections 88 to 93 repealed

5.     Sections 88, 89, 90, 90A, 91, 92 and 93 of the principal Act

are repealed.

Section 148 amended

6. Section 148 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the

paragraph designated "(5)".
