s1 2 s3 Land Amendment (No. 2) No. 144, 1995 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Land Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1995 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Land Regulation 1988 . ˙ Insertion of new s 53A 3. Part 5, after section 53— insert— ˙ ‘ Appointment of public servants as temporary members of Land Court—preservation of rights ‘ 53A.(1) This section applies if an officer of the public service is appointed as a temporary member of the Land Court. ‘ (2) The person retains, and is entitled to, all rights that have accrued to the person because of employment as an officer of the public service, or that would accrue in the future to the person because of the employment, as if service as a temporary member of the court were a continuation of service as an officer of the public service. ‘ (3) At the end of the person’s term of appointment as a temporary member of the court, or on resignation— (a) the person is entitled to be appointed to— (i) the office in the public service the person held before being appointed as a temporary member of the court (the “person’s previous office” ); or (ii) if, for any reason, the person’s previous office is not available—an office in the public service at a salary level and with other entitlements not less than the current salary level and entitlements of an office equivalent to the person’s previous office; and (b) the person’s service as a temporary member of the court is taken
