AN ACT to amend section five A of the Land Agents

Act, 1921-1972.

[Assented to 6th June, 1973.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Land Agents

and citation.

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

Section 5A

amended.

2. Section 5A of the principal Act is amended

(a)

by adding after the section number "5A." the subsection designation "(1)"; and

(b) by adding a subsection as follows

(2) Where an application is made for the renewal of a license after, but within twelve months of, the date on which the license expired (whether the date of expiry is before or after the coming into operation of the Land Agents Act Amendment Act, 1973), the Court of Petty Sessions may if it thinks fit renew the license and in that event

(a)

the renewal of the license shall be deemed for all purposes to have taken effect on the day immediately succeeding the date on which the firstmentioned license expired; and

(b)

the license as so renewed shall expire on the thirty-first day of December next following. .
