LAND ACT AMENDMENT.

AN ACT to further amend the Land Act, 1898.
[Assented to 22nd December, 1923.]
BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, byand with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Council and Legislative Assembly of 'Western Australia, in
this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of
the same, as follows:—

This Act may be cited as the Land Act Amendment Act, 1923, and shall be read as one with the Land Act, 1898, and the Acts amending the same.

| part of the holder of a lease or license hereafter granted under Parts V. and VI. of the principal Act to commence, within six months from the date of the lease or license, and thereafter to continue the improvements on such land to the satisfaction of the Minister. |

| (1.) Subsection (1) of section two of the Land Act Amendment Act, 1918, is hereby amended by omitting the words "the expiration of one year from the issue of a proclamation by the Governor General of the Commonwealth that the present state of war between His Majesty the King and the Emperor of Germany has ceased," and inserting in place thereof the words "the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four," and by adding to the proviso the following words, "with interest on such addi- tional rent at the rate of seven pounds per centum per annum with compound interest from such date to the date of the application." | Pastoral leases. |
| (2.) All pastoral leases granted under the provisions of subsection four of section thirty of the Land Act Amendment Act, 1917, and section two of the Land Act Amendment Act, 1918, shall be for a term commencing the 1st day of April, 1918, and all leases heretofore granted for a term commencing on the 1st day of April, 1918, shall, as regards the date of commencement thereof, be deemed to have been |
