ACT to further amend the Land Act, 1898.

[Assented to 20th January, 1915.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and

Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parlia- with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and ment assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

This Act may be cited as the Land Act Amendment Act, 1914,

and shall be read as one with the Land Act, 1898, hereinafter re-

ferred to as the principal Act.

Short title.

1.

(1.) Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act to the contrary, Part XI. of the principal Act, and the Land

Part XI.

Act Amendment Act, 1904, shall be administered by the respon- sible Minister of the Crown charged with the administration of such Department as the Governor may, from time to time, deter- mine.

(2.) In Part XI. of the principal Act, in the Land Act Amend- ment Act, 1904, in all regulations relating to timber lands made thereunder, and in all timber leases, licenses, permits, and other instru- ments granted or issued under the authority thereof; either before or after the commencement of this Act, and in the application of the general provisions of the principal Act and its amendments to any

such lease, license, permit, or instrument, the words " the Minister," " The Department of Lands and Surveys," and " the Under Secretary for Lands" shall mean, respectively, the responsible Minister of the Crown by whom Part XI. of the principal Act is for the time being administered, and the Department controlled by such Minister, and the Under Secretary or Secretary of such Department.

(3.) Provided that the power conferred upon officers of the Department of Lands and Surveys by section nineteen of the Land Act Amendment Act, 1904, may be exercised by any officer of the Department of Lands and Surveys, or of the Department of the Minister appointed for the time being to administer Part XI. of the principal Act
