Lakes (Amendment) Ordinance 1983

An Ordinance to amend the Lakes Ordinance 1976

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Lakes (Amendment) Ordinance

1983}

Commencement

2. This Ordinance shall come into operation on 1 October 1983.

Principal Ordinance

3. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Lakes Ordinance

1976}

Interpretation

4. Section 4 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end

thereof the following sub-section:

"(4) A reference in a provision of this Ordinance to a prescribed fee shall be read as a reference to the fee determined under section 5A for the purposes of that provision.".

5. After section 5 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is

Power of Minister to determine fees

"5A. The Minister may, by notice in writing published in the Gazette,

determine fees for the purposes of this Ordinance.".

Approved buoys, wharves and jetties

6. Section 19 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in

sub-section (1) "and upon payment of the prescribed fee" after "writing".

Restriction on water skiing

7. Section 28 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in

sub-section (1) "upon payment of the prescribed fee and" after "may,".

Restriction on use of hovercraft

8. Section 29 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in

sub-section (1) "upon payment of the prescribed fee and" after "may,".

Selling or hiring of goods, &c, in a lake area

9. Section 34 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from

sub-section (3) "a fee of $2" and substituting "the prescribed fee".
Power to charge for admission

10. Section 35 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) "Superintendent" (wherever occurring) and substituting "delegate of the Minister".

Regulations

11. Section 54 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from

paragraph (c) "and the fees to be paid".
