Explanatory note

Under the Lake Illawarra Authority Act 1987 the Lake Illawarra Authority may undertake certain development works for the purpose of improving the environment of Lake Illawarra, its foreshores and environs. These “development works” are specified in the Act, or additional works may be declared by regulations to be development works for the purposes of the Act.
