KATOOMBA WATER SUPPLY

ACT.

Act No. 13, 1921.

An Act to sanction the carrying out of certain works to augment the water supply of the Municipality of Katoomba; and for purposes consequent thereon or incidental thereto. [Assented to, 10th December, 1921.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South by and with the advice and consent of the Legis-

"Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :—

1 . This Act mav be cited as the " Katoomba Water

Supply Act, 1921.'' 2 .

2. The carrying out of the works described in the Schedule to this Act is hereby sanctioned ; and the Secretary for Public Works, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being performing the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said works, subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be and shall have the power of a Constructing Authority within the meaning of the Public Works Act, 1912.

3. The plan of the said works is the plan marked " Katoomba Water Supply Augmentation Proposal," signed by the Secretary for Public Works, and counter­ signed by the Chief Engineer for Water Supply and Sewerage, and deposited in the public office of the said Secretary.

4. The cost of carrying out the said works of water supply, estimated at thirty-two thousand nine hundred and eight pounds, may be defrayed from such Loan Votes as are now, or may hereafter be, applicable to the purpose, or from appropriations of the Public Works Fund, or partly from such votes and partly from such appropriations, and shall not under any circum­ stances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.

SCHEDULE.

THE construction of a second dam on Cascade Creek nearly half a mile
downstream of the present dam, a pumping plant, a 9 in. (nine-inch) rising main from the new pumping station to the existing storage

reservoir, and incidental works, subject to any deviation or modification that the Constructing Authority may deem necessary.
