A n Act to remove disqualifications of Jus t ices
of the Peace in cer tain cases. [26th July,
1872.]

Peace in cer ta in cases and i t is expedient to remove such doubts Be i t therefore enacted by the Queen ' s Most Exce l len t Majesty by and wi th t h e advice and consent of t he Legislat ive Council and Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in Pa r l i amen t assembled and by the au thor i ty of t he same as follows :—
1. This A c t m a y for all purposes be ci ted as t he " Jus t i ces

2. A Jus t i ce of t h e Peace shall no t be incapable of ac t ing as a Jus t i ce a t any P e t t y or Special or Genera l or Qua r t e r Sessions on the t r i a l of any offence ar is ing under an A c t or under any By-laws to be p u t in execut ion b y a Munic ipa l Corporat ion or Trustees or any o the r local au thor i ty by reason only of his be ing a ra tepayer or one of any class of persons liable in common wi th o thers to con t r ibu te to or to be benefited by any fund to t he account of which t h e penal ty or any port ion thereof payable in respect of such offence is directed to be carr ied or of which i t will form pa r t or to cont r ibute to any ra t e or expenses in d iminut ion of which such penal ty or any por t ion thereof will go Provided always t h a t no Jus t i ce being a Mayor A l d e r m a n or Officer of a Munic ipa l i ty shall act as aforesaid in any ease affecting such Munic ipa l i ty or touch ing any m a t t e r in which the Munic ipa l i ty shall as such be directly or indirectly interested.
