JUSTICES ACT 1902—REGULATION

(Relating to the short description of certain offences under the Local Government
Act 1993, the Roads Act 1993 and the Traffic Act 1909)

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 July 1993.

Amendments
2. The Justices (Short Descriptions of Motor Traffic and Other Offences) Regulation 1986 is amended:

(a) by omitting from Schedule 1 the matter relating to the Local Government Act 1919 and by inserting instead the following matter:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the short descriptions that, by virtue of section 145B of the Justices Act 1902, are sufficient to state or describe, in any information, complaint, summons, warrant, notice, order or other document, certain offences under section 650 of the Local Government Act 1993 which may be dealt with by penalty notices under section 18B of the Traffic Act 1909.

The Regulation also makes amendments consequential on the repeal of Ordinance No. 34C made under the Local Government Act 1919 and the preservation (as Regulations under the Roads Act 1993 and the Traffic Act 1909) of certain other Ordinances and Regulations.
