His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Justices Act 1902.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to increase certain fees set out in the Justices (General) Regulation 1993 to be paid to a Clerk of a Local Court in respect of proceedings before any Justice or Justices under the Justices Act 1902. This Regulation is made under the Justices Act 1902, including section 154 (the general regulation-making power, in particular, section 154 (1) (a)).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Justices (General) Amendment (Fees)

Regulation 1996.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 January 1997.

  1. Amendment of Justices (General) Regulation 1993

    The Justices (General) Regulation 1993 is amended as set out in

    Schedule 1.

3.    Application of a kind not otherwise provided for in this

(a) per page (or equivalent), where the matter being
transcribed is under 3 months old 6.50
(minimum fee for 1 to 8 pages or equivalent 55.00)
(b) per page (or equivalent), where the matter being
transcribed is 3 months old or older 7.50
(minimum fee for 1 to 8 pages or equivalent 65.00)

14.    Copy of any document (other- than a deposition,
