An Act to amend the Civil Liability Act 2002, the Corrections Act 1997, the Criminal Code Act 1924, the Police Offences Act 1935, the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 and the Sentencing Act 1997 and to consequentially amend the Annulled Convictions Act 2003, the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023, the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2005, the Evidence Act 2001, the Evidence (Children and Special Witnesses) Act 2001 and the Justices Act 1959

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

PART 1Preliminary1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Justice Miscellaneous (Commission of Inquiry) Act 2024. 2Commencement (1)  Except as provided by this section, the provisions of this Act commence 30 days after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. (2)  Part 4 is taken to have commenced on 1 May 2020. 3Repeal of ActThis Act is repealed on the first anniversary of the day on which the last uncommenced provision of this Act commenced. PART 2Annulled Convictions Act 2003 Amended4Principal ActIn this Part, the Annulled Convictions Act 2003 is referred to as the Principal Act. 5The amendment effected by this section has been incorporated into the authorised version of the Annulled Convictions Act 2003. PART 3Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023 Amended6Principal ActIn this Part, the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023 is referred to as the Principal Act. 7The amendment effected by this section has been incorporated into the authorised version of the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023.
