Jury Exemption (Statutory Rules 1992 No. 123) Regulations 2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Jury Exemption Act 1965.

1.   Statutory Rules amending the Jury Exemption Regulations—amendment

1.1   Statutory Rules 1992 No. 123 are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE:

 These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s.48]

 

2.   Regulation 3

2.1   Omit all the words after subregulation 3.7, substitute:

“3.8   Paragraph 5 (2) (i):

Omit “and”.

3.9   Subregulation 5 (2):

Add at the end:

• “; (k)

  a member, or a member of the staff, of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal; and

• (l)

  an officer or employee of:

  • (i)

    the Attorney-General’s Department of the Australian Capital Territory; or

  • (ii)

    the Legal Aid Office of the Australian Capital Territory; or

  • (iii)

    the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Australian Capital Territory;

 being an officer or employee whose duties involve the provision of legal professional services”.
