1937. No. 75.

 

REGULATION UNDER THE JURY EXEMPTION ACT 1905–1932.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL, in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Jury Exemption Act, 1905–1932.

Dated this twenty fourth day of June, 1937.

Amendment of the Jury Exemption Regulations. 

Exemption of certain officers from jury service.

Regulation 2 of the Jury Exemption Regulations is amended by omitting all words from and including the words ‘Prime Minister’s Department’ to the end of the regulation and inserting in their stead the following words:—

“Prime Minister’s Department

Private Secretary to Prime Minister;

Assistant Public Service Inspector;

Chief Auditor.

Department of Trade and Customs

Chief Investigation Officer

Department of the Interior.....................

Chief Clerk;

Accountant;

Chief Architect;

Chief Mechanical Engineer;

Chief Electrical Engineer;

Engineer, Roads and Bridges.

Department of the Treasury...................

Accountant;

Assistant Statistician;

Inspector, Taxation Branch

Department of External Affairs

Officer-in-Charge, International Co-operation Section;

Officer-in-Charge, Political Section.

Department of Defence.........................

Officer-in-Charge, Canberra Secretariat.

Postmaster-General’s Department

Postmaster, Canberra.”
