Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to increase the attendance allowances that are payable for service) and 76 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Jury Amendment (Attendance and Refreshment
Allowances) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2012 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

Part 3 Refreshment allowance

If a person serving as a juror is released by the judge or coroner during a luncheon adjournment, the juror is entitled to be paid a refreshment allowance of $6.85, but only if the juror does not accept any refreshment provided free of charge.
