under the

Jury Act 1977

His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive

Council, has made the following Regulation under the Jury Act 1977.

JEFFREY SHAW, Q.C., M.L.C.,

Attorney General

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to alter the maximum travelling allowance payable under the Jury Act 1977 to jurors for each day of their attendance. The allowance was inadvertently increased (with effect on and from 1 July 1997) from $20.10 to $30.10, instead of to $22.10. (The latter amount is based on the current rate of 22.1 cents per kilometre, with the maximum payment being for 100 kilometres travelled each way.)

This Regulation is made under the Jury Act 1977, including sections 76 (the general regulation-making power) and 72.
