AN ACT to amend the Junior Farmers' Movement
Act, 1955.
[Assented to 5th November, 1957.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Junior Sanhoirctiran.
Farmers' Movement Act Amendment Act, 1957.
(2) In this Act, the Junior Farmers' Movement
Act, 1955,
Act No. 23 of 1955,
is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Junior Farmers' Movement Act, 1955-1957.

| amended. | 2. Section five of the principal Act is amended |
| (a) | by substituting for the words, "Institute of Agricultural Science" in lines three and four of subsection (3), the words, "University of Western Australia — Institute of Agricul- ture"; and |
| (b) | by adding after subsection (5) the following subsection: |
(5a) A councillor or a deputy for a councillor, in his capacity as councillor or deputy, is not a public servant under the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1904, but if at the time of his appointment to office of councillor or as deputy he is a public servant under the provisions of that Act, his appointment to and service in the office of councillor or as deputy shall be deemed to be without prejudice to his rights under that Act, or any other Act applying to him as a public servant.

Section eight of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "officers" being the last word in pargraph (a) of subsection (2), the passage, "who shall not be appointed pursuant to the pro- visions of the Public Service Act, 1904, but who when appointed shall be entitled to such leave of absence, and to such rights prescribed by or pursuant to the provisions of the Superannuation and Family Benefits Act, 1938, as would apply if they were appointed pursuant to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1904". |
