An Act to regulate the Salaries and Pensions
of Judges of the Supreme Court. [14th April, 1883.]
| WH E R E A S it is expedient to increase the Salaries and Pensions of Judges of the Supreme Court Be it therefore enacted by | the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and |
| consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :— | |
| 1. Prom and after the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three the annual salary of the Chief Justice shall be Three thousand five hundred pounds and the annual salary of every Puisne Judge Two thousand six hundred pounds. | |
| 2. The pension to be paid to any Chief Justice or Puisne Judge retiring after fifteen years service in the Colony as a Judge of the Supreme Court or on permanent disability or infirmity shall be seven- tenths of his actual salary at the time of such retirement. | |
| 3. Judges' pensions as fixed by this Act shall be in every year charged upon and payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund. |
4. This Act may be cited as the "Judges ' Salaries and Pensions
Act of 1883."
