An Act to regulate the Salaries and Pensions

of Judges of the Supreme Court. [14th
April, 1883.]
WH E R E A S it is expedient to increase the Salaries and Pensions of Judges of the Supreme Court Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—

1. Prom and after the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three the annual salary of the Chief Justice shall be Three thousand five hundred pounds and the annual salary of every Puisne Judge Two thousand six hundred pounds.

2. The pension to be paid to any Chief Justice or Puisne Judge retiring after fifteen years service in the Colony as a Judge of the Supreme Court or on permanent disability or infirmity shall be seven- tenths of his actual salary at the time of such retirement.

3. Judges' pensions as fixed by this Act shall be in every year charged upon and payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

4. This Act may be cited as the "Judges ' Salaries and Pensions
