Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act Amendment Act 1989, No. 46 559 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title . This Act may be cited as the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act Amendment Act 1989. 2. Citation. (1) In this Act the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act 1967-1984 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act 1967-1989. 3. Amendment of s. 5 . Salaries of District Court Judges , etc. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (2) after the words "fixed," inserting the words "and in addition thereto that Judge shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $9 000 per annum, save where some other rate is fixed `therefor pursuant to Part V when the allowance shall be paid at the rate for the time being so fixed,". 4. Amendment of s. 18. Future adjustment of salaries and allowances. Section 18 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1), omitting from paragraph (b) the words ", in the case of the Judge designated as chairman of District Courts,"; (b) in subsection (2), omitting from paragraph (b) the words in the case of the Judge designated as chairman of District Courts,". 5. Amendment of s. 27. Inquiry and report on judicial salaries. Section 27 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1) omitting from paragraph (b) the words ", in the case of the Judge designated as chairman of District Courts.".
