344 OuQ8ns lan r ANNO VICESIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 22 of 1971 An Act to Amend the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act 1967-1970 in certain particulars and for another purpose [ASSENTED To 21sT APRIL, 1971) BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act Amendment Act 1971. (2) The Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act 1967-1970 is referred to in this Act as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be collectively cited as the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act 1967-1971. 2. Amendment of s. 3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1), (i) omitting the words " nineteen thousand five hundred dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty-three thousand six hundred dollars ";
Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act Amendment Act 1971, No. 22 345 (ii) omitting the words " one thousand dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " one thousand two hundred dollars "; (b) in subsection (2), omitting the words " seventeen thousand seven hundred dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty-two thousand two hundred dollars ". 3. Amendment of s. 5 . Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1), (i) omitting the words " thirteen thousand five hundred and fifty dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " sixteen thousand four hundred and fifty dollars "; (ii) omitting the words " one thousand dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " one thousand five hundred dollars "; (b) in subsection (2), omitting the words " thirteen thousand five hundred and fifty dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " sixteen thousand four hundred and fifty dollars ". 4. Emoluments for performing Chief Justice' s duties on specific occasion . It is hereby declared that the Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court who performed the duties of the Chief Justice of Queensland for the period commencing on the first day of July, 1969, and concluding upon the expiration of the fourteenth day of April, 1970, was, while performing those duties, entitled to be paid and shall be paid in respect of that period salary and allowance at the rates that were, at the material time, prescribed with respect to the salary and allowance payable 'to the Chief Justice.
