AN ACT to amend the Judges' Salaries and

Pensions Act, 1950-1961.

[Assented to 4th October, 1962.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Judges'

and citation.

Salaries and Pensions Act Amendment Act, 1962.

In this Act the Judges' Salaries and Pensions

Act, 1950-1961, is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Judges' Salaries and Pensions Act, 1950-1962.

amended.

2. Section five of the principal Act is amended

(a)

by substituting for the passage, "first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine," in lines one and two of subsec- tion (1), the passage, "first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixty- two,";

(b)

by substituting for the words, "five thousand two hundred and fifty pounds" in lines four and five of subsection (1), the words, "six thousand four hundred pounds";

(c)

by substituting for the words, "fourthousand seven hundred and fifty pounds"

in line eight of subsection (1), the words, "five thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds";

(d)

by substituting for the words, "four thousand six hundred pounds" in line eleven of subsection (1), the words, "five thousand six hundred pounds";

(e)

by substituting for the interpretation, "salary rate" in paragraph (a) of subsec- tion (1a) the following interpretation

"salary rate" means the salary rate of six thousand four hundred pounds, five thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds or five thousand six hundred pounds as the case may be;

and

(f)

by substituting for the passage, "first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine" in lines three and four of the interpretation, "variations", in para- graph (a) of subsection (la), the passage, "first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-two".
