Joiner and Dane (No.2)

In *Joiner and Dane (No.2)*, the Family Court of Australia considered an application by the husband for an order that the wife pay him a sum of money, and an application by the wife for an order that the husband pay her a sum of money. The dispute concerned the division of property between the parties.

The court was required to determine the respective entitlements of the parties to the property pool and to make orders for the division of that pool. This involved assessing the contributions of each party to the acquisition, conservation, and improvement of the property, as well as considering future needs and other relevant factors.

Judge Hartnett applied the principles of property adjustment under the *Family Law Act 1975* (Cth). The court considered the evidence presented regarding the parties' financial and non-financial contributions, their respective incomes, financial resources, and future needs. After a detailed assessment, the court determined that the wife should receive a net sum from the husband.

The court ordered that the applicant husband pay the respondent wife the sum of $9,529, and that the respondent wife pay the applicant husband the sum of $23,557. All other extant applications were dismissed.
