1Name

This instrument is the Jervis Bay Territory Rural Fires Amendment (Miscellaneous Measures) Rules 2019.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Jervis Bay Territory Rural Fires Ordinance 2014.

4Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Part 2 (heading)

Repeal the heading, substitute:

Part 2—Rural fire brigades

Subsection 6(3)

Omit “of a”, substitute “on a”.

At the end of section 6

Add:

1. (4)

   A person’s listing on a brigade register is subject to such conditions as may be imposed by the Minister.

At the end of subsection 7(2)

Add:

1. ; or (c)

   has not complied with any conditions of membership imposed by the Minister under subsection 6(4).

At the end of subsection 10(1)

Add:

1. ; or (d)

   fails to comply with conditions of membership imposed by the Minister under subsection 6(4).

Paragraph 10(4)(b)

Omit “or group of rural fire brigades”.

Subparagraph 10(4)(c)(ii)

Omit “or group”.

At the end of paragraph 10(4)(c)

Add:

1. ; (iv)

   impose conditions under subsection 6(4) on the member’s membership of a rural fire brigade.
